Yes
They do, and have additional activities to keep you in one place if that is what you wish (talking about gardening, flowers, etc.)
Yes.
That is a question for the staff at the park
Only on "Dog Days". They happen several times a year.
Free parking. Bring good walking shoes and water bottles and shades. 😎
If its the upside down cone structure the its a buidling for tropical trees.
I highly recommend a membership for locals. Money saving tip! Buy a membership from Lady Bird Johnson Wildlife Center. You will have access to the state gardens including San Antonio Botanical Gardens and it is cheaper. I buy a membership every year and I never regret it. Never overly crowded, always updating, and it is one of the most beautiful spots to get out and enjoy the open air. There are plenty of restrooms, ample water fountains, and as much shade as there is sun filled paths. Even on a texas summer day you can enjoy the park.
Beautiful venue. Very well done. Nice walking trails very accessible for people in wheelchairs. While I am not a botanist, they do have a really nice selection of flora, local plants, tropical plants, succulents… They also have a outdoor kitchen that provides weekly cooking tips and other types of culinary classes-looks like a lot of fun and will definitely partake in the future. They also do outdoor activities like concerts, wine tastings, beer tastings. Neat place, looking forward to going back.
Drove in from Houston to visit this place. Spent a lovely 4 hours walking around and I enjoyed every second of it. Admission was only $12 per adult. Cute Halloween themed scarecrow/ figures from local art clubs to boot! I was also really amazed by the wooden bug sculptures. I will definitely come back sometime!!
This place was amazing . Hope to go back when it cools down .
I went yesterday with my 1 year old. She LOVED the kids area. Its a great place for her to explore, play and have fun with other children. Will be going back soon, can't wait to go in the summer.
Absolutely love this place! Great for walks, jogs, or take your kids to the family area so they can run wild. Beautiful plants and layouts.
The San Antonio Botanical Garden is the official botanical garden of San Antonio, Texas. It has 38 acres that serve as a living museum of native and imported plant life for visitors to appreciate, learn from, and enjoy. #SamxTravels #SamxTravel
It's awesome. Totally worth the cost of a family season pass. The grounds are deceptively large, particularly since the new additions of the family adventure garden and Japanese garden. It would be hard to see everything in a day. The best way to experience the Garden is to visit over time and treat it like a private park. There are places to picnic, play games, dog friendly days, a great restaurant, lots of special events. You can bring your own food. There's a sort of splash pad area for kids that's built to resemble a hill country stream. There are fish and turtles to feed in the pines woods section. It's just a very chill place with lots of things for families or dates.
The SA Botanical Gardens are a hidden gem that not enough people talk about. I truly wish I had more time to explore (they close at 5PM), but I thoroughly enjoyed what I was able to see. The gardens have more to see than meets the eye since it looks pretty small from the outside. Tickets are reasonably priced at $15 for an adult ticket. Student discounts are also offered. I definitely have to visit again!
Great place to take your family for photos and enjoy beautiful scenery.
Hot, very few flowers blooming, directions were vague, not great for getting tickets, hours, paths, handicapped areas, wheelchair paths that didn't bog down. All the water stations were closed. There was an event so some of it was closed. Epic fail and a total waste of an afternoon on our anniversary! Wanted to take pics in front of flowers. NOT! These were the best pics we got and the only flowers blooming, on our way out.
Very nice landscape architecture and nice array of plants. Highly recommended.
As I have said many times in the past, I really enjoy visiting SABOT. It is always a good escape from either work, during a lunch break or any other time you can manage it. I really appreciate the extended hours! Being open until 7pm during the week is a welcome change! The renovation is now complete and the garden is more beautiful than ever. There is a large outdoor area with plenty of shade and socially distanced seating. A nice place to sit and read a book or just relax. The Family Adventure Garden has many spaces for kids and families to enjoy and play.
Paid 54 for two kids and two adults so kinda peicey. Not much of a botanical person but it was a very enjoyable time. The best part was the Family section where the kids can tumble down a hill and get in a little creek. I would recommend you go just to be out but I personally will not be going back.
An excellent place to explore, especially with kids! Plenty of beautiful walkways, flower exhibits, and pathways that could keep you occupied for 2-3 hours.
This is the most beautiful and peaceful place I’ve ever been! San Antonio’s best attraction for sure. Can’t wait to go back. It is extremely family friendly and has the best staff. Very grateful for this place. So many fun spots for kids to play and make happy memories!
Very beautiful scenery with lots to view and explore. A great time for the family and those who are just looking to enjoy splendours of nature.
This place is HUGE and absolutely delightful! There’s more here than you can possibly explore in a day. There are native trails recreated with plants from the different regions of Texas as well as perfectly manicured, traditional gardens and modern artistic landscaping. Largest Hibiscus I’ve ever seen! I especially loved the water saver area with full size mock-ups of front yard lawn and planting options. They also offer classes on attracting pollinators or birds, incorporating native plants into your landscape, and much more. I was mostly taking photos of plants for my own garden. Beautiful botanical garden; I’ll be returning again and again!
I always enjoy coming to the gardens but it had been about 1 1/2 years since I had been. I recently went and I was surprised by all the new additions and updates. There was so much more to see and the grounds were so well taken care of. We happened to go on a day they were offering classes regarding Orchids and it was great getting to learn from the presenters and those placed throughout the conservatories. I'll definitely be renewing my annual membership so I can keep going back.
Beautiful! I went for a class on Sustainable Landscapes hosted by GARDENSTYLESA.com and found it informative. It was nice to have a personalized tour of the area. I'll be getting the annual membership!
Loved the flowers. The atmosphere here is really fun for someone who likes being outside. The paths are interesting and you get to read about the flower's origins which is pretty cool. Lots of walking so it's good exercise. When it's hot, I'd recommend going early or later because there isn't a lot of shade or places to sit. Unless you're visiting an area where flowers and plants are meant to stay cool which may be 1 or 2 spots out of 15+ different areas. They have cool spots for kids to play and the staff seems alright. They are constantly busy tending the place. The Botanical Gardens occupies and pretty good space and there are some areas that need attention. I guess they cant get to every spot since they seem to be expanding (I noticed construction), and having social events, yet they seem to have limited staff. All in all it was a fabulous visit. I thoroughly enjoyed myself!
My brother and his family were here for the holidays, and they love plants! We saw a small portion of the gardens and loved it. I wonder how many people it takes to keep the plants in such beautiful condition? I'm never disappointed when visiting the SA Botanical Garden. Next time I need to plan to spend more time here.
Amazing gardens. Great place to take kiddos. Love the kid area and the tumbling hill.
This is the most beautiful place in town, deeply relaxing and never too busy, so you get lost in the plants and concrete structures easily. There's so much to see, and the little lake towards the back of the garden is a small pocket of isolation and tranquility. While it closes early, we've found ourselves sometime after hours, there's never an ounce of urgency or anxiety within these walls, so take everything as you need to.
Great place to take the kiddies on a nice walk and learn some stuff about local nature
Enjoyed myself! They only had 1 food vendor, but their food was awesome, so that was ok! Wine vendors were nice, just wish they carried more sweet wines. But the gardens were beautiful!
Great place! Looks small from the outside but wait till you get in there! This place needs more recognition!
Beautiful plants and flowers. Very scenic and enjoyable. I would recommend.
The best place to walk around. Everything is so beautiful from the Japanese gardens to the greenhouses. It’s my son’s favorite place to go. They have a family section with a splash pad, sand pits, etc. The volunteers on the weekends are so nice and knowledgeable. I can’t say enough good things about this place!
The gardens were lovely. With COVID-19 precautions, the water fountains were covered, so it was unpleasant to walk around in the heat with no water. But the experience was lovely and the staff were friendly
A bit pricey in my mind, but still a great experience. Lots of really cool plants to see. My wife and daughter loved it!
Great place to relax and see the different plants and flowers that are indigenous to Texas.
The water features were nice, lots of flowers were in bloom. However they mislabeled one of the plants I'm familiar with so it was kind of hard to trust the names of the plants after that. I also thought the price was too high for what you get, even with a student and military discount.
This is an awesome place to visit when the weather is pleasant. Lots of gardening ideas as well as native plants. Would really like the older homes to convert to a bed and breakfast facility. It would be like waking up in heaven. Best part is the east Texas exhibit- hands down. Great work and community support from all San Antonian's.
Such a wonderful place to be. We been here twice and we love it. Very peaceful, many lovely gardens to see, and the renovations are great too. Make sure you bring sunscreen, and do hydrate during your visit, the place is big might take half day or longer. I wish I could come more often but live far from this area.
An absolute gem... A beautiful place for walks and learning about the nature around us.
The Sam Antonio Botanical Gardens is a wonderful place to visit for families and people of all ages. Learn about plants and view scenic landscapes. Many events are also held here such as cooking classes and art history. The classes are small which allows more one on one interaction between you and the instructor.
Much needed upgrade is complete! Great place to walk & take in the great scenery.
The place is absolutely beautiful! Especially if you’re coming down from Michigan, A lot hot, but it’s better than freezing your butt off in the winter time, and I am being nice,
Beautiful gardens!! The green houses were spectacular! The best part was how nice we were treated. In particular, there was a security guard, Jason?? Anyway, he was so nice and accommodating. We were visiting Texas from California. My son was graduating from the A.F. The gardens were our last stop before heading home. Jason?, I hope I'm remembering that name correctly, made the trip memorable! Thank you
I love the Botanical gardens. This place is magical with all the different plants, flowers, & trees. There are different areas from outside and inside rooms filled with tropical flowers; desert plants, and plants all over the world. Fun for the whole family. It does cost to get it and totally worth it. Definitely make a day out of it to come to the Botanical gardens. There's so much to see and should take your time coming here. Have a blast. We went In July so know San Antonio is very hot.
If you love plants, trees, flowers, ponds, cactuses, history and educational stuff, this is one of the best places to visit in San Antonio, they have done so much work over the last couple of years, it's even more amazing now..!!! You will not be disappointed..!!!
As a photographer this place brings so many different exhibits that I truly enjoy and love taking photographs of. As a person who loves the outdoors in general, this place has it all. I love coming here as often as I can and truly enjoying all its natures. I recommend 10/10 to everyone.
We had a wonderful visit here. The San Antonio Botanical Garden has a rich variety of plant life from a number of habitats but we enjoyed most those plants that were of the arid and semi-arid environments near San Antonio. As a result, it is a good idea to keep you eye out for for the wildlife that take advantage of this lovely space.
Wonderful facility. Great way to get exercise!
The San Antonio Botanical Garden is a very large garden with many different areas to explore both inside and out. This garden is a great place for everyone of all ages and families to explore. It is also a very peaceful garden with waterfalls, plants, trees and flowers from all the world. It also has many windy trails that take you all over the garden and are very beautiful. I was here in early January but think the most beautiful time of year would be spring and summer when every thing would be in season and colour
For many years, my wife has painted in the gardens, especially Spring. Sometimes on canvases of 5 ft x 4 ft, but usually smaller. This Virus Spring the garden has closed while we all come to grips with a new lifestyle. The Restaurant is especially nice. It's not just any stable, but a fine, upscale stable redone as a restaurant. You would like to live like a millionaire's horse. You don't need an admission to eat at the restaurant, which makes it popular for larger groups (whenever larger groups can get together again to eat).
If you’re a visitor and plant enthusiast, make time to visit the garden. My husband and I are members and we love to check out the botanical garden often. They also host neat events and workshops.
So glad we didn't skip the San Antonio Botanical Gardens. Just a wonderful experience. Bring the kids and all your friends! The gardens are beautiful with many winding trails that take you through all the different areas. Birds too! Love this place, and we almost slipped it before leaving town.
The best place to unwind while social distancing in the city.
